- Senior Gleaners help close the fresh food gap For nonprofits that feed people, including the Benos Brothers of Oceanside. Gleaners is a volunteer group with picking teams that collect unpicked fruit and unsold products from grocery stores for distribution to a network of charities.Recent changes to organic waste collection regulations have increased the number of requests San Diego County Senior Greeners That’s why we need more volunteers. Senior Greeners are also seeking donations for the vans that will transport food from the fields to the 64 locations. (San Diego era)

- of FBI offers $10,000 reward for man known to have ties to OceansideGerald Mendoza has been on the run since he was charged in the 2005 shooting of Joseph Gravett at Fort Mojave, Arizona. Gravett reportedly identified Mendoza as the shooter before he died in hospital, according to the Mojave County Sheriff’s Office. “Mendoza is a 40-year-old Hispanic male who stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He also goes by the name ‘Blackie.’ The FBI says he should be considered armed and dangerous. ”(KLAS-8 News)
