A 1-year-old girl died Saturday in Cottonwood, Arizona. Her mother reportedly accidentally hit her while moving her car near her home.
Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) Said On Saturday, a mother called 911 and reported that she hit 13-month-old baby Saira Rose Toming while trying to park her car as close to the family’s home as possible. Her mother was reportedly moving the car out of tight, cramped spaces. She claimed to have made sure Saira, who was in the car seat, was in a safe place during the maneuver. “While repositioning the vehicle, the front tire caught the child seat canopy, causing the vehicle to tip over backwards and seriously injure the infant,” the sheriff’s office said.

Saira was rushed to Verde Valley Medical Center, where medical personnel performed life-saving treatment on the girl. Despite these efforts, the infant was confirmed dead.
The girl’s mother was never charged and the sheriff’s office is still investigating the tragic incident. according to to the New York Post. A fundraiser has reportedly been launched to help the family.
“During her short but beautiful life, she loved the outdoors, nature, playing with her family, animals and water,” Saira’s uncle wrote on the GoFundMe page. “She only spent a split second with her and who wouldn’t have seen her best smile.”
