KINGMAN—A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
Detectives at the Mojave County Sheriff’s Department continue to investigate Wednesday’s murder. At approximately 3:49 p.m., the detachment began receiving calls for weapons crimes in the Russ Avenue and Rose Drive area of the Chaparral Mesa area north of Kingman.
In a news release, the MCSO wrote that lawmakers were notified shortly afterwards that a male subject with gunshot wounds had been taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center. The man, who later died from his injuries, was identified as Kingman’s Anthony Altirio, 19.
Detectives attended both scenes and began interviewing witnesses. At the end of the interrogation, a 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged as an adult with second-degree murder.
The suspect suffered minor gunshot wounds during the incident and was released after being examined by medical personnel before being transferred to the Mojave County Adult Detention Facility.
