17-Year-Old Girl Runs Into Hotel Lobby Screaming For Help. Police Chase Down Alleged Sex Trafficker

Authorities arrested a man accused of sex trafficking after a teenage girl came across a hotel lobby screaming for help in Sacramento, California, according to a press release.

Deputies for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) were called to the scene of the assault on Feb. 18 and found the 17-year-old man being trafficked by sex, the SCSO said in a Facebook press release. Upon arrival, authorities allegedly found out that they were “trafficked and left for sex.”

The victim told detectives she had sex with 26-year-old Alfred Walker.

“It’s how desperate she was. She should ask someone for help. Amal Gandhi I said KCRA3.

According to SCSO, Walker used a handgun to threaten the girl multiple times. When she tried to leave at one point, he allegedly threatened to shoot family and friends who tried to help her. In another incident, Walker poured hot coffee on the girl and “punished and threatened her when she tried to refuse to work as a sex worker,” law enforcement said.

The victim insisted that Walker contacted the client and “aligns sexual activity between the buyer and the victim and maintains all the money himself.”

According to the SCSO, authorities found Walker on February 27 while driving in Sacramento. It is said that a 1911 pistol and a white crystalline material believed to be methamphetamine was discovered inside his car.

Detectives discovered the second victim during an investigation where authorities also rescued it, police said. (Related: Truck driver rescues sex trafficking victims after noticing surprising signs during a highway encounter)

“It is likely that detectives will have several unreported victims that could potentially be potentially invaded by Walker or trafficked by people,” the press release read.

Walker remains in custody, facing multiple felony charges without detention; Inmate’s record show. He is expected to meet the judge on Monday.

The arrest reported that California lawmakers are deliberating on a bill that would make it a felony for those seeking or purchasing a 16- or 17-year-old for sex. The new law is built on a law approved last year, and recruiting or purchasing children under the age of 15 has become a felony. Before the law, it was a state misdemeanor offence, the outlet noted.
