18 Children Kicked Off School Bus, Abandoned By Driver

The New York Post reported that a bus driver in Queensland, Australia, ordered 18 students off the bus on July 14, six miles from their destination.

Children as young as five were found loitering in the streets at 2am. One of the 12-year-old students, Emily, said the driver may have lost her patience after being abused in the back seat by children. “Several children were wrestling for a few seconds…then the bus driver stopped and asked us who it was,” Emily said.

When the children continued to fight despite the driver urging them to stop, the driver stopped the car and got off the bus, demanding that the responsible children also get off.

“She pulled over and got off the bus, but she wouldn’t get on and kicked us all. When the bus driver got off the bus, I really didn’t know what to do.”

“It seemed so far from home, it was really scary,” said her 7-year-old sister.

One mother said the driver’s behavior was “unacceptable.”

Translink confirmed that the driver was not employed by Bus Queensland.

“Translink has asked its delivery partner, Bus Queensland, to investigate the incident, following complaints from parents,” the company said in a statement.
