18-year-old killed in Flagstaff shooting

FLAGSTAFF, Arizona — A teenager died and another was detained by police after a shooting in Flagstaff late Sunday.

Police received a call about a shooting at a home near Route 66 and Fourth Avenue at 11:23 p.m. and found a man with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds, officials said. flagstaff police station.

The man was later identified as 18-year-old Isaiah Joseph Ezekiel Avila of Flagstaff. He was confirmed dead at the scene.

Flagstaff Police Criminal Investigation Unit responded to the investigation and identified Omar Tafoya Hernandez, 18, of Flagstaff as a suspect. He was later held in the Coconino County Detention Facility on second-degree murder charges.
