‘1923’ Second Season Apparently Delayed Indefinitely

According to a report released in mid-June, filming for 1923, the spin-off of the blockbuster Yellowstone, has been halted indefinitely.

The delay is reportedly due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike that began in early May. according to to NBC Montana. The cast and crew of Taylor Sheridan’s hit show, which was due to begin filming in Butte, Montana in early June, asked for an extension of the filming location contract to make up for the delay.

Sheridan and his team have been renting out the town’s Civic Center for the rest of the year, though they may need to rent it out until 2024 if the strike continues. Civic Center manager Bill Melvin told NBC the location will be ready for use whenever Sheridan and the Cowboys show up. But this doesn’t do much for fans desperately waiting for Sheridan’s words to come true.

In addition to the WGA’s strike, NBC reported that the Screen Actors Guild has also threatened to strike if an agreement with the Federation of Motion Picture and Television Producers is not struck by the end of June.
