2 arrested, accused of assaulting Kingman police officers in separate incidents | Kingman Daily Miner

Kingman – A police officer in Kingman was reportedly assaulted in another recent incident. Deputy Chief Joel Freed said the first encounter occurred following a speed-related traffic stop around 11:15 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10.

Kingman’s driver, David Padilla, 36, was determined to be disabled at a stop on Block 2500 on East Andy Divine Avenue, Freed said.

“After asking Padilla to get out of the car and perform a standard field sobriety test, he attempted to flee on foot,” Fried said. and injured the officer’s hand as he fell to the ground.”

Freed said the officer’s injuries were minor.

The second incident occurred around 3:40 pm on Saturday, February 11, when police responded to a report of domestic violence in Block 2200 of Lucille Avenue. A 6-year-old girl was involved in a disturbance in her family, and that a cop kicked her twice during her arrest.

The child was treated at the scene for minor injuries while officers did not require medical attention.

Padilla and Guillin were booked separately to adult detention facilities on aggravated assault on officers and other charges.
