The two are being taken to Metro Hospital this afternoon after a pickup truck vs. subrollover crash on the state’s Route 238.

At 3:16pm, deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a “two-vehicle accident with injuries” in the Maricopa Mountains just west of Mobile, Sgt. said. Joaquin Enriquez.

Reporters on the scene saw a jeep compass lying on the side of a desert brush between the eastbound lane and the railway tracks. The Chevrolet Silverado was rested in the grooves by the truck.

Two Silverado residents were being assessed by first responders on the scene around 4pm, according to reporters. Two ambulances responded.

Enriquez said the resident, an elderly man and a female, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the rollover car was not seriously injured.

“The tow trucks have been called and they’re working on clearing the scene right now,” Enriquez told us at 5pm.

MCSO has yet to determine the cause of the crash.
