An immigration group reported Wednesday that it has identified two Jordanian nationals who were arrested in May for plotting to break into a Marine Corps base near Washington, DC.
Hasan Y. Hamdan and Mohammed K. Dabous were two Jordanian men arrested in May for allegedly trying to crash a truck into the gated entrance of Quantico. according to The report, based on an investigation of federal court records by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), comes after federal authorities for months declined to release the names of the two men or provide details about why they attempted to break into the Marine Corps facility. “The Biden administration has refused to answer reporters' questions, deny the possibility of terrorism, or even reveal the names of the two Jordanians who are in the country illegally,” CIS national security fellow Todd Bensman said in a blog post. The stonewalling has continued despite congressional investigations, subpoenas from the House Homeland Security Committee and requests for more information from Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a Republican.
The incident occurred on May 3 at Marine Corps Base Quantico in northern Virginia.

Two men arrived at the front door in a box truck and identified themselves as Amazon contractors delivering a package, but were unable to provide identification, so security escorted them to a waiting area where additional identification measures were conducted.
The driver then ignored instructions and attempted to drive the truck through the detention center, prompting security guards to set up a blocking barrier and ultimately detain the pair, who were then transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody where their citizenship and immigration status were being questioned.
ICE confirmed to the Daily Caller News Foundation later that month that both men are Jordanian nationals and are in the U.S. illegally, with one having entered the country in 2022 on a student visa that had already expired and the other having crossed the border illegally in 2024. However, the ICE statement did not name the men.
“Both were indicted on May 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in Alexandria on a Class B misdemeanor of trespassing on a military installation, which carries a maximum penalty of six months in prison and a $5,000 fine,” the CIS report said.
According to CIS, both Hamdan and Dabous have been released from ICE custody and are now free after agreeing to appear for all future immigration proceedings and stay away from Quantico and other military bases.
Neither the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) nor ICE responded to requests for comment from the DCNF about the identities of the two men.
