Authorities are asking for the public's help in solving a triple homicide that happened at a Hispanic grocery store in Montgomery last week.

A $25,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the capture of the shooter, and it has been offered by Montgomery City Council members Oronde Mitchell, Charles Ginright, Glenn Pruitt, Andrew Szymanski and Julie Beard, who have each pledged $5,000 to the effort.

The murder victims were George Elijah Jr., age 50, Daniel Lopez, age 20, and Romero Lopez, age 43. Elijah and Daniel Lopez died at the scene, while Romero Lopez later died at the hospital. The Lopez couple were father and son.

“The little things that they didn't tell us, the things that we need to tie everything together and bring these people to justice, are crucial,” Hall said. “So call us. Let us come and fill out a police report. We don't do anything other than a police report. We make sure that that citizen is protected because they're a victim in that moment.”

Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed assured the city that they were pursuing the perpetrator.

“People who work in our communities, who work day in and day out, week in and week out, trying to make a living, should not be sacrificed,” Reed said. “And that's exactly what happened last night.”

“We are not going to tolerate people being hunted because they think they are an easy target or easy prey. It's easy for the hunter, but it's not easy for the hunted, and that's exactly where they are right now.”

Montgomery Police are working with the FBI to solve the case, and so far no arrests have been made in connection to the murder.
