Maricopa, Arizona (AZFamily) Three suspects are in custody after a hit-and-run that led to a police shooting in Maricopa Friday morning.
Around 9 a.m., Maricopa Police Desert Cedars DistrictIt was located at the intersection of State Route 347 and Bowlin Road. Officers arrived on scene and found the suspect vehicle.
However, when police attempted to speak to the three suspects inside the vehicle, they fled from officers.
The two suspects were pursued by officers and arrested.
A third suspect was found a short time later in a neighbor's backyard with a rifle, according to Maricopa authorities. As authorities attempted to detain the suspect, an officer fired shots at the suspect but missed him. The suspect was later taken into custody.
Police said two firearms were recovered at the scene of the shooting. No officers were injured.
The Pinal County Sheriff's Office will take over the investigation.
This is the 15th shooting outside of Maricopa County and the 42nd officer-involved shooting in Arizona so far this year.
