3 Casa Grande school threats in less than a week, police say

Casa Grande, Arizona – School officials at Casa Grande are wrapping up a stressful week after three separate school threats.

Police initially responded to the middle and elementary schools on Wednesday after staff reported social media posts depicting messages threatening students at each school were being shared on campus.

According to police, the post was made by an 11-year-old junior high school sixth grader. The student allegedly created the post with stock images in order to persuade her friend’s parents to allow her friend to skip school for the day.

The student will be charged with felony obstruction of an educational institution pending approval from the Pinal County Attorney’s Office.

While police investigated social media posts, staff told police a 13-year-old eighth grader had a fake handgun. , I took it to school and showed it to my friends.

The eighth grader will be charged with misdemeanor disorder of an educational institution pending approval from the Casa Grande City Attorney’s Office.

These two incidents reportedly happened less than a week after a high school student had a firearm at Casa Grande Union High School.
