What a scary time for fruit lovers! In the past few weeks, four companies have announced recalls of fruit due to possible contamination. These recalls affect many stores across the United States, including Washington and Oregon. Fortunately, no health problems were reported in these four specific recalls.
June 8thIn 2023, Wawoma Frozen Foods (Clovis, Calif.) announced a voluntary recall of its Organic Daybreak Blend processed and sold in 2022. The recall was due to possible contamination with hepatitis A, and these were distributed to Costco wholesale stores in Arizona. , California, Colorado, Utah, Washington. On June 12, 2023, Willamette Valley Fruit Company of Salem, Oregon announced a voluntary recall of Great Value and Radar Farms packages containing strawberries and frozen fruit blends (with strawberries). The reason for this recall is that strawberries grown in Mexico may be contaminated with hepatitis A. Walmart stores in 32 states, including Oregon and Nevada, sold strawberry-based products from January 24 to June 8 this year.
