Santan Valley, Arizona (3TV/CBS 5) — A young girl was struck and killed by a car in the San Tan Valley area late last week. She was identified as 4-year-old Mia Preston.
According to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, on Friday, February 23, at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers responded to a call near the Pinal County Sheriff's Office. Combs Road and Painted Desert Drive. There, emergency services found Preston with serious injuries from being hit by his car. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
The girl's death is being investigated by the Pinal County Vehicle Crimes Task Force. PCSO said the driver involved remained at the scene and is “participating in the investigation.” It is unclear at this time whether the person may face any charges.
