The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) in North Carolina plan This gives teachers bonus checks worth up to $2,000.
The following groups are covered:
- Elementary English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher
- K-5 Teacher
- instructional specialist
- Special needs teacher in charge of regular curriculum
- WCPSS members who participated in the training from 2019 to 2020
- WCPSS interventions and teachers for participating academically or intellectually gifted (AIG) students 2022-2024
Also, to be eligible, qualified staff must have worked for WCPSS on the first day of the month in which the bonus is paid.
Alaska to send cash in 2023
Alaska residents get $650 through the Permanent Fund, which the state sends each year, to help cope with rising energy prices.
In total, eligible Alaskans received $3,284 from the state in 2022.
Residents can now apply for 2023 payments. Online applications are available until March 31, 2023.
Elderly Fight for New Stimulus Check
A nonpartisan advocacy group called the Senior Citizens League is fighting to get a one-time $1,400 stimulus check approved for those eligible for Social Security.
The group wrote to Congress last year saying the cost of living adjustment combined with inflation would hit many older Americans with fixed incomes hard.
Senior Citizens League president Shannon Benton previously told the US Sun:
“For many, the high cost of living adjustment has only exacerbated their financial problems by increasing their income beyond program limits to qualify for Medicare Savings Programs and additional assistance. ”
Professionals complicit in increasing tuition fees
Nicole Smith, chief economist at the Center for Education and Workforce at Georgetown University, said: CNBC Last year to explain the reason for the general rise in loans.
