A 5-year-old child was killed in Maryland on Friday when a wind gust blew a bounce house into the air during a baseball game, ABC News reported.
A 5-year-old boy was killed and another child was injured in the accident at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf, Maryland. according to The children were playing in a bounce house set up in the right field stands during a baseball game between the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs and the York Revolution when a gust of wind lifted the bounce house 15 to 20 feet into the air, according to ABC News.

More details have emerged about the incident that took place at Blue Crabs Stadium in Waldorf, Charles County, Maryland.
Local media reported that a bounce house was blown over and at least one person was taken to hospital.

According to the outlet, Charles County officials said the incident happened at about 9:21 p.m. and that stadium staff immediately called 911. The bounce house went into the air for a moment and landed on the field after the children fell out, according to the outlet. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel, baseball team trainers, and volunteer paramedics reportedly responded quickly to help the children. According to ABC News, the 5-year-old from La Plata, Maryland, was taken to Children's Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A second child suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was flown by helicopter to the hospital for treatment.

Charles County Government Chairman Reuben B. Collins offered his condolences.
“My deepest sympathies go out to the children and their families during this difficult time. I'm grateful to the emergency responders and Maryland State Police who acted quickly to ensure the children received immediate medical treatment,” Governor Collins said in a statement, according to ABC News.
Southern Maryland Blue Crab Announced X (formerly known as Twitter) said Saturday's game has been postponed and that the organization is praying for the families, players and fans affected.
