Newly released 911 audio reveals that Cindy Morgan's neighbors called for help after becoming concerned about a “foul odor” coming from the actress' apartment.

Neighbors told dispatchers they hadn't seen or heard from Morgan for several days, and he didn't respond to calls or knocks on the door to get his attention. “She just came out of her room and there was a strange smell coming from the room. I don't know if she's there because she passed out or something,” she said. 911 audio clip Posted by TMZ.

The “Caddyshack” actress, 69, was later found dead in her room.

The neighbor, who has not yet been identified, expressed grave concerns for her friend while pleading for assistance.

“I don't know if she's there or not, but she lives with the animals. She's worried about the tenants who don't have anyone,” she said.

The neighbor gave the 911 dispatcher a summary of her unsuccessful attempts to contact Morgan and provided the reason for her concern.

“I tried calling her, but no one can hear me. The dog is barking. There's a bad odor coming from the unit…” said the neighbor.

She went on to explain that animal control had already been called and was scheduled to come the next day, but she didn't feel comfortable waiting that long to make sure her friend was okay.

The concerned resident began talking so quickly in panic that the dispatcher had to ask her to slow down.

“I don't know if she's passed out in there or if I smelled something bad. I'm just worried. She has a big dog and two cats,” posted by TMZ she said, according to the audio.

An investigation is currently underway to determine Morgan's exact cause of death. According to TMZ, foul play is not suspected at this time. (Related: Decomposed body of pregnant woman found in man's apartment)

Morgan is best known for her role as Lacey Underall in Caddyshack, starring Chevy Chase, Bill Murray and Rodney Dangerfield. She had a total of 37 acting credits throughout her decades-long career in Hollywood.
