‘Dumbest Thing I’ve Ever Seen’: Donalds and Ingraham React to Democrats’ Request for Crowd to Toss ‘Balls of Yarn’

Florida Rep. Byron Donald and Laura Ingraham Share a Laugh Over Democrat Summit Clip

On Friday, Florida Representative Byron Donald joined Laura Ingraham on Fox News for a light-hearted segment about a clip from a Democrat event. The clip featured a moment where the host joked about throwing a “Yarn Ball” during the gathering, drawing laughs from both of them.

The event, organized by a youth advocacy group called Voters of Tomorrow, included notable speakers such as former Democratic Chair Nancy Pelosi and Representative Ro Khanna. Ingraham showed a video where two women spoke about encouraging voter turnout ahead of the midterms, and then commented that anyone interested in “bonding” should attend a breakout session.

“What a god,” Ingraham chuckled. “I just want you to know, Congressman—”

“That’s not true!” responded Donald, emphasizing his point.

The clip relayed instructions for attendees who wanted to “turn the thread ball,” mentioning that participation was optional. Ingraham quipped, “It has to be fake. I wish I could toss a ball of thread at the camera right now, but honestly, I might just need to leave the room and switch parties. This is embarrassing. Playing cards sounds much more fun.”

Donald piped in with his thoughts, indicating that this sort of activity might explain why Democrats are struggling to appeal to younger voters. “No young man in America wants to throw yarn around. It’s honestly the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. But it’s not surprising. This is the party that said Biden could do his job.”

Ingraham highlighted that everyone at the summit was required to show valid photo IDs to attend, while Donald pointed out the inconsistencies in the Democrats’ stance on voting policies. “It’s hypocrisy,” he said. “Look at the rules that apply to them versus the rules for everyone else. If they believed in common sense, they’d approach things differently. But here, you need an ID to enter their summit, yet in California, you don’t need an ID to vote.”

“This is why Democrats are losing support. Just look at their approval ratings. They’re going to keep declining. In the midterms, we’ll take the House and Senate majority.”

Democrats have long opposed voter ID laws, especially after Trump called for evidence of citizenship for federal elections earlier this year. Ironically, at their own 2024 National Convention, proof of identity will be required for security purposes, despite their criticism of such practices.
