Judge Sends Caitlin Clark’s Stalker to Prison

Sentencing in Stalking Case Involving WNBA Player

A Texas man, Michael Lewis, aged 55, has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison for stalking WNBA player Caitlyn Clark. He appeared in court in Indiana on Monday, where he pleaded guilty to felony stalking and misdemeanor harassment as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.

The judge mandated that Lewis stay away from Clark, prohibiting him from attending events at Hinkle Field House, Gainbridge Field House, and activities associated with the Indiana Fever or the Pacers organization.

It was noted that Clark had notified authorities of her awareness regarding the plea agreement.

Lewis was previously flagged by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office for suspected stalking behavior in January. According to documents obtained by the authorities, Lewis allegedly sent “threatening and sexually explicit messages” to several WNBA stars on their X accounts from December 12, 2024, to January 11, 2025.

Investigations linked Lewis to the threatening messages through an IP address registered to a hotel in Indianapolis, which raised concerns since he is a Texas resident. He was ultimately arrested on January 12, as reported.

Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears commented on the case, stating that the resolution holds the defendant accountable for his troubling behavior and the distress it caused Clark. He expressed that the outcome allows Clark to focus on her priorities without fear.

Interestingly, Clark hasn’t made any public remarks regarding the situation.
