Cincinnati City Councilwoman Claims White Victims Were Worthy of Harsh Attack

Controversy Erupts Over Cincinnati Assault

Cincinnati city councillors seemed to express a disturbing sense of celebration regarding a violent incident caught on video, where they suggested the white victim “begged for the assault.”

The brawl, which occurred around 3am, has rapidly circulated online, depicting a chaotic scene outside a downtown bar where a group (predominantly black) was seen attacking white individuals. One man was shown bloodied and on the ground, while a woman who attempted to step in was knocked unconscious. There were also reports of some assailants hurling racial slurs during the chaos.

“They begged for that assault! I’m grateful for the whole story,” commented Councillor Victoria Parks on Facebook in response to the footage from Saturday’s melee.

This week, her remarks have prompted calls for her resignation, with President Ken Cober of Cincinnati’s Brothers Order Police and Republican Ohio Rep. Phil Plummer among those voicing discontent over her comments.

As of now, five individuals have been charged, and Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Tegge indicated that more arrests are anticipated.

“Let me be clear,” Tegge stated during a press conference. “Anyone who places their hands on another person during this incident with the intent to cause harm will face consequences, regardless of which side they were on.”

Republican Ohio Senator Bernie Moreno has criticized how the city is managing the situation, posting a graphic image of the victim, Holly, who was hospitalized after the attack.

“She wanted to have a lovely night with her friends,” Moreno remarked on social media. “Instead, she got this. We need and deserve change,” he added.
