Flagstaff Seeking Community Feedback on Spruce Wash Wedge Artwork

Community Input Sought for Landmark Art in Flagstaff

The City of Flagstaff is inviting residents to share their thoughts on the new three-dimensional art features being developed at Promontory, located on E-Cedar Avenue and Northwest Street. This initiative is part of the Spruce Wash Wedge Detention Project.

Online surveys are available until September 9th to assist the artist team in crafting artwork that resonates with the community and reflects local culture.

“If you’re from the East Side or feel a strong connection to this area, we really want to hear from you,” said Jana Weldon, the Arts and Science Program Manager for Beautification. “This is your chance to express what makes this section of Flagstaff unique.”

After the preliminary design wraps up in 2026, there will be another opportunity for residents to provide input.

The city envisions the artwork enhancing the renovated headland as part of the Spruce Wash Water Improvement Flood Mitigation Project.

The artist team, Haddad | Drugan, has been selected for this project, having previously worked on other public art installations such as those at the Downtown Connection Center and “Southside Grove.”
