Arizona DOT Launches Online MVD Office in Fredonia

Arizona Launches Virtual MVD Office

The Arizona Department of Transportation has initiated a virtual car division, called TeleMVD, at its Port of Immigration facility in Fredonia. This service aims to assist local residents and those impacted by recent events, such as the Dragon Bravo Fire. With TeleMVD, users can conveniently access various automotive services from their homes.

According to the agency, TeleMVD enables customers to handle numerous vehicle and driver licensing tasks, such as registration renewals, without needing to visit a physical office.

The service center at the Fredonia location is equipped with computers, printers, scanners, and payment tools, allowing residents to complete the majority of MVD services on-site.

“We’ve been putting in significant effort to maximize our operations,” stated Eric Jorgensen, MVD Director at Arizona DOT. “MVD services are crucial for those affected by the Dragon Bravo Fire, and we want to ensure they have the necessary support during this time.”

In other states, the transportation sectors are also stepping up efforts. For instance, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation has taken measures to protect residents from scammers posing as the state DMV, who solicit payments and personal information.

In early August, the department introduced a webpage designed to help consumers identify fraudulent activities and provide advice on what to do if targeted in phishing schemes.

“We’ve seen a surge of fake emails and texts impersonating Wisconsin DMVs,” said Tommy Winkler, a manager at the department. “Recognizing these scams becomes simpler when you know the warning signs. Our new online resources will inform people about red flags and offer guidance on how to safeguard themselves.”
