Comer Requests Treasury to Provide Epstein’s Unusual Activity Reports

House Oversight Committee Seeks Epstein Financial Reports

James Kommer, the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, has requested that the Treasury provide reports on suspicious financial activities linked to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell by September 15, as reported by Fox News.

The Republican from Kentucky sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent, emphasizing the need for what he termed “fraud management” regarding Epstein and Maxwell, including details surrounding Epstein’s death. This request comes as the committee investigates what it views as “potential mismanagement” in the federal inquiry involving them.

Kommer stated, “It is vital for the Treasury Department to deliver certain SARs to the committee to assist in the enforcement of sex trafficking laws, particularly concerning the investigations and prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.”

This request follows the establishment of a task force on federal secret confidentiality earlier this year, where Kommer also demanded all records related to Epstein from the Department of Justice. The DOJ began supplying documents to the committee on August 22nd.

Additionally, Kommer has issued subpoenas to several prominent figures, including former President Bill Clinton and notable former officials such as Robert Mueller, James Comey, and Loretta Lynch.

Mueller was expected to testify before the committee on Tuesday; however, the subpoena was withdrawn after the committee learned of health issues preventing his appearance. Last month, former Attorney General Bill Barr was the first to testify in this ongoing investigation.
