Charlie Kirk Cautioned About ‘Assassination Culture’ Months Prior to His Own Death

Concerns About Political Violence from Charlie Kirk

Charlie Kirk expressed alarm over an escalating tendency for violence among left-leaning groups shortly before his death.

On April 7th, Kirk remarked on X, “The assassination culture spreads to the left.” He referenced a report from the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI), which assessed American attitudes toward political violence.

The report indicated a troubling rise in acceptance of political violence, particularly among those on the political left. Kirk highlighted that nearly half of liberals surveyed found the murder of Elon Musk at least somewhat justifiable, while slightly more believed the same about Donald Trump.

In a follow-up, he noted, “In California, activists have named voting measures after Luigi Mangione. The left seems engulfed in a violent frenzy. Any setback, whether it’s losing an election or a legal challenge, seems to rationalize severe reactions.”

After Kirk’s murder, reactions from the left ranged from indifference to outright celebration. He commented, “This reflects a broader culture of protest that has for years been tolerant of violence. There’s a troubling relationship between local officials and this climate, turning the left into a ticking time bomb.”

Details about Kirk’s killer remain unclear. Reports indicate that the police have not yet identified a suspect, though it’s suspected that political motivations could be involved.

Interestingly, former President Donald Trump narrowly escaped a similar fate in July 2024 in Butler, Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, Democrat Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were not so fortunate, as they were killed on June 14, 2025, in what was described by Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz as a “politically motivated assassination.”
