John Miller States Alleged Assassin of Charlie Kirk Chose Grievances ‘Like a Salad Bar’ of Extremism

Warning About Extremist Ideology and Recent Events

CNN law enforcement analyst John Miller expressed concern on Friday regarding the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk by Tyler Robinson, suggesting that the attack reflects troubling trends in extremist ideology.

Robinson reportedly fatally shot Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University, and law enforcement later found bullet casings marked with “anti-fascists” along with other left-wing statements. During a segment of “Leave with Jake Tupper,” Miller noted that many current attackers seem to lack a clear ideological foundation, often pulling together various responses from online communities.

“These individuals are picking complaints from a variety of sources, mixing them together without any connection to nurturing or family values,” Miller commented. “Many of them are lost and isolated, finding their way online while already feeling angry and depressed; they seem to ultimately decide who they’ll target.”

He pointed out that attacks driven by political or ideological motivations are happening with alarming frequency across the nation.

Miller referenced various recent instances, including shootings in Washington and incidents involving Israeli embassy employees at a Jewish Museum, saying, “We’re witnessing a pattern here.”

Authorities have named 22-year-old Robinson as the suspect in Kirk’s assassination, following a warning from a family friend. Robinson allegedly expressed a desire for suicide instead of surrendering to law enforcement and requested a connection with a young pastor.

The Pentagon is now looking into military personnel celebrating Kirk’s assassination online, with Defense Secretary Pete Hegses stating that the situation will be addressed soon, as several left-wing accounts apparently linked to service members have praised the death of conservative leaders.
