Erika Kirk’s Emotional Tribute to Charlie Kirk
Andrew Corvette, the executive producer for Charlie Kirk, who is the founder of Turning Point USA, discussed the significance of a cross necklace owned by Kirk’s wife, Erika, during an appearance on Fox News’s “Ingraham Angle.”
An emotional image of Erika Kirk surfaced online showing her holding the cross necklace while in a vehicle. Fox host Laura Ingraham inquired about the story behind this necklace after seeing the photo. It’s interesting, really. I mean, it raises so many emotions.
Corvette explained, “This was a necklace that Erica gave to Charlie on a date, telling him, ‘You’re a Christian.’ Initially, he hesitated, saying he wasn’t sure. But there was this moment that pushed him, and he started to feel, well, overwhelmed by everything.” He added that Charlie wore the necklace continuously until he was fatally shot, and in the rush to save him, some caregivers had to remove it. Now, Erika keeps the necklace close.
Meanwhile, Kirk had been actively speaking at various college campuses about political issues. Just last Wednesday, he had an event in Utah where the turnout seemed impressive, with students enthusiastically cheering and he even threw hats into the crowd.
Tragically, about 20 minutes after his engagement with the crowd, gunfire erupted and Kirk was hit. Security swiftly took him to the hospital, where he was initially stabilized but sadly later passed away from his injuries.
The following day, Charlie’s remains were transported to Phoenix aboard Air Force 2, accompanied by family, friends, Vice President J.D. Vance, and the Second Lady. In footage, Erika was seen alongside the Second Lady while Vance assisted in carrying Charlie’s remains.
Erika is set to address supporters on Friday night, with vigils planned across the nation throughout the evening.
