Yuma Receives Two National 3CMA Awards for Outstanding Outreach

Yuma City Wins National Awards for Communication Efforts

The Yuma City Communications Team recently received national recognition at the City County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA) awards held last week in Las Vegas, Nevada. This event showcased over 1,100 entries across 37 categories related to government communications nationwide.

The city won two prestigious awards: the Top Award and the Savvy Award, both highlighted in the video submission. These honors were specifically for “Charlemos Yuma,” a Spanish outreach program aimed at engaging Spanish-speaking residents with urban services and resources. Additionally, the city’s news radio segment, “City News Yuma Minute,” received the Silver Circle Award for its contribution to keeping residents informed about city events.

Judges remarked on “Charlemos Yuma” as being both “fun and inclusive,” noting that it skillfully combines entertainment with education, something that hasn’t always been accomplished through traditional channels. Similarly, “City News Yuma Minute” was commended for its strategic approach and positive effect on residents and local radio.

“These awards highlight the city’s commitment to connecting with all residents in meaningful and accessible ways,” said communications manager Jen Miller. “We are proud that our team has consistently brought creativity and innovative thinking to everything we do for our community.”

This recognition, awarded annually, is considered among the top honors in government communications, judged by local government specialists and experts in consulting, academia, and marketing.
