Tuberville criticizes ‘Radical Democrats’ for aiming to halt government operations and cut funding for law enforcement

Senator Tommy Tuberville Criticizes Democrats Over Potential Government Shutdown

On October 1, US Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) expressed strong criticism towards Democrats for their role in driving the federal government towards a potential shutdown.

The House has already passed a resolution to extend the Republican suspension, aiming to fund the government until November 21st. However, the Senate turned down the bill as some Democrats are intent on using the threat of a shutdown to push for their spending priorities.

Tuberville stated, “Democrats will do whatever it takes to stall President Trump’s agenda. Don’t get it wrong. If the government shuts down, it’s the Democrats’ fault.”

Additionally, House Appropriations Committee chair Robert Adderholt (R-Haleyville) mentioned on Birmingham’s radio program “Priority Lecture” that he believes a government shutdown is quite likely. “I think there’s about a 90% chance. It might last 24 hours or it could stretch to 24 days; I just can’t say,” he noted. “We still need to maintain an army, but our soldiers won’t get paid immediately, and while many know they’ll be compensated at some point, it won’t be until their usual pay period.”

Tuberville, who is also running for Governor of Alabama in 2026, warned that a government shutdown could threaten the safety of average Americans. “Antifa terrorists are burning our cities, attacking ICE facilities, and even killing people in churches,” he claimed. “Meanwhile, radical Democrats are trying to shut down the government and halt funding for law enforcement. There’s no doubt—this is an attack on law and order in our country.”
