Katherine Robertson receives support from ALFA for her AG campaign

Support for Catherine Robertson’s Attorney General Campaign

On Tuesday, Alabama Attorney General candidate Catherine Robertson received notable backing from the Alabama Farmers Federation.

Her campaign celebrated this endorsement on Wednesday, highlighting that the support from Alpha not only aligns with conservative ideals but also emphasizes advocacy for Alabama farmers. This endorsement was facilitated through FarmPAC, Alpha’s political action committee.

The campaign expressed that this backing reflects confidence in Robertson’s ability to stand up for farmers, small businesses, and traditional Alabama values in the face of government regulations and progressive initiatives.

Robertson, who hails from an eighth-generation agricultural family, expressed her gratitude: “I am deeply honored and humbled by the support of Alpha. Agriculture is vital to both our economy and our culture,” she stated.

She further emphasized her commitment to upholding the rule of law, promising to protect Alabama’s farmers, families, and small businesses from bureaucratic challenges. “Farmers are my people, and together we can create a stronger, more prosperous Alabama,” she added.

This endorsement for the upcoming 2026 elections follows the FarmPac Montgomery Conference, where over 20 political candidates from all 67 counties in Alabama sought approval.

Alfa President Jimmy Parnell commented on the upcoming election cycle, calling it crucial: “With more than 160 races on the ballot, the choices voters make in May and November will shape Alabama’s future in significant ways.”

Robertson, a native of Dallas County, is an Auburn University graduate and attended the University of Alabama Law School. She has served as Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall’s deputy since 2017, first joining the AG’s office in 2016 as a senior adviser to former Attorney General Luther Strange.

Before that, she worked at the Alabama Institute of Policy Research, a conservative think tank, from 2014 to 2016, eventually becoming vice president. Additionally, she was legislative counsel for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee during the tenure of Senator Jeff Sessions from 2009 to 2011.

Robertson’s campaign noted that this support adds to a month filled with endorsements from various conservative organizations and prominent law enforcement leaders statewide.

In addition to Alpha, her campaign also has backing from the Republican Bar Association, as well as several law enforcement officials, including Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum and others.

Currently, Robertson is up against former Alabama Supreme Court Judge Jay Mitchell and Brandt County District Attorney Pamela Casey in the Republican primary for Attorney General.

Mitchell has garnered endorsements from the Alabama Grocery Association and the Alabama Business Council, among others. Meanwhile, Casey announced that over 50 district attorneys and law enforcement officials have backed her campaign.

Robertson’s support from Alpha comes after Mitchell criticized her for a substantial donation from a nonprofit established by a former executive director of a Republican organization.

On a related note, Alpha also endorsed Marshall for the U.S. Senate race in Alabama.
