Tucson (KVOA) — Border leaders are looking for solutions to tackle the border crisis.

Millions of dollars of fentanyl have been seized over the past two weeks by Arizona law enforcement. The Tucson area on the U.S.-Mexico border is one of the areas most affected by drug trafficking.

Arizona State Representative Juan Ciscomani said: Police officers are dealing with people fighting law enforcement or fleeing border patrols. ”

Panelists highlighted issues they said Arizonas were dealing with because of the border crisis.

This includes overdose and increased homelessness.

The Cochise Sheriff’s Department reports a more than 1,000% increase in cross-border fentanyl.

Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson has voiced how the border crisis is affecting Arkansas.

“Fentanyl is coming in and killing young people. Anytime you cross the border, it becomes very personal to Arkansas and the country at large.
