60’s and sunny will stay through the middle of the week | Weather

Tucson (KVOA) – Cooler than average temperatures for the next few days, but sunny and nice weather through early Wednesday.

High temperatures in Tucson today range from the lows to the mid-sixties. Santa Cruz and Cochise County are a little cooler, with highs in the high 50s/low 60s.

Tonight’s overnight low will drop into the mid-30s. Dry air will keep cool temperatures through the middle of the week.

We’re tracking the light wind conditions to return to southern Arizona on Wednesday. Gusts can reach 30 mph in Tucson and 40 mph in Santa Cruz and Cochise counties.

Litter rain will begin in our area late Wednesday night, with a higher chance of precipitation overnight.

No bad weather is expected. Heavy rain and strong winds are possible, but it will be too cold for thunderstorms.

Instead, Tucson should be on the lookout for a slight chance of snow. If it does snow, it should be between 3:00 and 5:00 am and the ground is wet so it doesn’t stick to the ground very much.

Higher elevations may see more snow.

The next front is expected to bring only about 0.25 inches of rain maximum.

The next big cooldown will be near freezing again on Thursday and Friday, following that system.

By the weekend you’ll be back in the early 70’s.

  • Today: Mostly sunny and mild. High: 63°
  • Tonight: Partly cloudy, mild. Low: 35°
  • Tomorrow: sunny, calm. High: 62°
