Harold Everett Bray, known as Hal to friends and family, died of pancreatic cancer on February 22, 2023 at his home in Prescott, Arizona. he was 76 years old.

Hal was born on March 6, 1946, in Evansville, Indiana, to Harold Eugene and Dorothy Cecilia Bray. His younger brothers are Mark and Daniel. In 1957 the family moved to San Diego. They then moved to Anaheim, California, where Hal attended Anaheim High School. He graduated from California State University Fullerton with a degree in business administration.

Hal met his wife Linda in 1966 while working at the Montgomery Ward. The two he married on September 30, 1967 at St. Anthony Her Claret Church in Anaheim. They have a son, Christopher, who lives in South Pasadena with his wife Anne and granddaughter Madeline.

After college, Hal worked at California State Penitentiary and State Hospital as a parole officer, training supervisor, and prison oversight commander. Ten years later he moved into the private sector, and he spent another 30 years in sales for a telecommunications company. In California, Hal and Linda lived in Anaheim, Walnut, and He Creek before moving to Brentwood. They then fled to Prescott, grateful to have found political sanity in a beautiful place.

An outdoor enthusiast and conservationist, Hal completed the Sierra Club’s Basic Mountaineering Training Course with his wife, Linda, and spends his time camping, hiking, and backpacking with his family. He toured the districts with candidates, served as Finance Committee Chair for the Yavapai County GOP, and supported candidates for local and state office. In California, Hal served on the board of pro-life organization Birthright and was a member of the NAACP.

A lifelong Catholic, Hull was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an usher at Prescott’s Church of the Sacred Heart. In the final years of his life, he served on the board of directors for Gabriel’s Angels, a Phoenix-based charity that provides “animal assistance” to at-risk children in Arizona. served as a member.
