PHOENIX — Crystal Wilson returned to Arizona on Saturday to face charges related to the disappearance and death of her 10-year-old adopted son, Jesse Wilson.
Buckeye Police said Wilson was taken to the Maricopa County Jail on Saturday night.
They originally announced Wilson’s arrest in December.
In July 2016, Crystal Wilson told police that he ran away from home after Jesse Wilson put him in bed for the night.
Authorities searched for Jesse for months but were unable to find the boy.
On March 8, 2018, Jesse’s remains were found on the side of a road near Broadway and Oglesby. Jesse’s cause of death could not be determined.
Crystal Wilson disappeared about a month after Jesse went missing, and remained missing until the boy’s body was found.

A new investigator was assigned to the case in November 2020, and last December 9, a Maricopa County grand jury indicted Wilson.
Wilson was arrested in Georgia a few days later. She is now facing charges of abandoning or concealing her remains.
