Shortly after, the suspect collided with another vehicle just west of Campbell Avenue on Grant Road. As the police approached the car, the man pulled out a gun, and a police-involved shooting occurred. A woman in the car was taken to a nearby hospital, but her injuries are said to be non-life-threatening.

Investigators learned that she was also considered a suspect in the first case that led to the search. She did not injure any police officers or anyone in the community. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department will lead the investigation into the suspect. A parallel investigation by the Tucson Police Department’s Office of Professional Standards is underway to determine whether officers violated policy.
