Severe storms are likely across Arizona through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Light showers across the Valley on Tuesday morning set the stage for what could be an eventful few days.
“Returning several strong storms later today and Wednesday could bring localized heavy rainfall and gusty winds,” said the National Weather Service in Phoenix. Said on Twitter.
Much of the Phoenix metropolitan area saw less than a tenth of an inch of rain on Tuesday morning, but that could change with a severe storm forecast for an inch or two on Wednesday.
Temperatures in Phoenix were expected to stay in the 90s until the storm clears on Friday, when highs hit 99 degrees.
Counties across the state were advised to watch out for flash floods in a warning issued in Flagstaff to Eastern Coconino County, Navajo and Apache Counties, and the Navajo and Hopi Countries.
“Flash floods are the main threat, but isolated and severe thunderstorms are also possible,” said Flagstaff’s National Weather Service. Said on Twitter.
Temperatures across Flagstaff will remain in the highs of the 60s for the rest of the week, with a high of 72 degrees on Friday.
Southern Arizona counties, including Pima, Pinal and Santa Cruz, were also advised to watch out for flash floods on Tuesday and later Wednesday.

Temperatures in Tucson are expected to stay in the mid-90s, with a week-long high of 96 on Friday.
All temperatures across Arizona were expected to be about 1 degree cooler than the seasonal average.
The Bureau of Meteorology also monitors high winds in combination with low clouds to warn of possible tornado warnings.
