Two people were arrested on Friday in connection with the late December drive-by shooting that killed a woman in Tucson, police said.
The victim was identified by police as 21-year-old Jada Thompson.
Shortly after 9:30 pm on December 24, police responded to a call of shootings near North Swan Road and East Speedway Boulevard. Thompson arrived at the Tucson Medical Center with life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound, according to the Tucson Police Department. She was taken to Banner University Medical Center due to the severity of her injuries and died the next day.
Police say detectives learned Thompson was driving north on Swan Road in a “traffic accident” with other cars, one of which shot her and fled. It says.
Authorities said they found two suspects, identified as Cameron Patrick Griffiths, 25, and Jamie Monnick Moore, 20, and issued a search warrant for their vehicle on Friday.
Both Griffith and Moore were questioned by police and each charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault.
They were booked into the Pima County Jail on $1 million bond each.
