“The Clifton & Duncan Food Bank of First Southern Baptist Church exists to fight hunger and give hope in Greenlee County. We meet community needs through the distribution of nutritious food. There is a need in rural Greenlee County. Her 20% of children do not know where food comes from and face food insecurity. Much of Greenlee County is a food desert, with little access to affordable, nutritious food. More than a quarter of her residents are designated working poor.
Duncan’s location expanded in 2020, just in time to serve the community through the pandemic. In 2022, he will have his second site in Clifton, without a food bank. Overall, he serves approximately 250 needy households each month through two rations and a food pantry.
