Arizona Tax Credit: Clifton & Duncan Food Banks

“The Clifton & Duncan Food Bank of First Southern Baptist Church exists to fight hunger and give hope in Greenlee County. We meet community needs through the distribution of nutritious food. We value respect, compassion and honesty in all our interactions and activities.” This mission statement reflects our mission as a food bank to care for people and meet their needs. A summary of our activities.

There is a need in rural Greenlee County. Her 20% of children do not know where food comes from and face food insecurity. Much of Greenlee County is a food desert, with little access to affordable, nutritious food. More than a quarter of her residents are designated working poor.

Duncan’s location expanded in 2020, just in time to serve the community through the pandemic. In 2022, he will have his second site in Clifton, without a food bank. Overall, he serves approximately 250 needy households each month through two rations and a food pantry.

Here’s what our clients have to say about the impact we make: “There were some very difficult times, but with the help of the local food bank, I was able to get through.”
