Winslow, Arizona — Former Arizona High School wrestling coach He was sentenced to prison for several years for molesting a minor.
Daniel Scott Larsen, 40, was sentenced to six years in prison last week in Navajo County Superior Court after the former Winslow High School coach pleaded guilty to multiple sex crimes.
Larsen admitted to sexually abusing a high school student since the victim was 15, according to the Navajo County Attorney’s Office.
The defendant was also found guilty of abusing three other victims who were close relatives of Larsen.
“These crimes affected children ages 5 to 15 for decades, when the abuse to each of the four minor victims began,” said the Navajo County official. Prosecutor Brad Carlyon said in a statement. “It takes courage to come forward even hours, years, decades after the crime happened.”
After serving his prison sentence, Larsen is placed on 15 years of probation, registered as a sex offender, and does 300 hours of community service.
Larsen was indicted by a grand jury in October 2022 on over 20 counts of various sex crimes. Many of the indictments date back to his 1990s.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual conduct with a minor, attempted sexual conduct with a minor, and public molestation of a minor.
