The day after heavy rain hit the state, people were advised not to travel to parts of northern Arizona.

Flood advisories and warnings
The river flooding continued Thursday morning, with the advisory downgraded from earlier warnings and in effect until 11am. This included Sedona, Red Rock State Park, and Slide Rock State Park.
Flood warnings are in place for Oak Creek in Cornville until 8pm Thursday, Wet and Dry Beaver Creek and West Clear Creek until 11am Thursday, Verde River near Clarkdale until 2pm Thursday, and from Camp Verde Extended to 11pm Thursday on the Verde River to the East Verde River. , according to the National Weather Service.
The Bureau of Meteorology also said the erratic weather will continue into next week, with about 6,500 feet of snow on Thursday morning. More rain and snow were possible from Sunday into the following week.
Evacuation in Sedona lifted
The GO status issued Wednesday night to evacuate certain areas was lifted as levels in Oak Creek dropped. Coconino County said it was reminding all residents to stay home and be prepared and alert to weather changes.

Local road closure
State Route 89A remained closed between Sedona and Flagstaff on Thursday due to rocks on the highway.
Tonto National Forest has announced the emergency closure of its Needle Rock and Box Bar recreational sites to protect public health and safety due to hazardous conditions caused by flash floods. This order is in effect until May 16th or until revoked. National Forest System Road 20 (Needle Rock Road) remains open.
New River Road on Old Stage Road Northbound was closed due to flooding, according to the Maricopa County Department of Transportation.
The department also listed the following roads closed due to flooding:
- Tonopah Salome Highway Eastbound and Westbound, between 327th Drive and 315th Avenue
- Eastbound and westbound Patton Road between 293rd Street and Douglas Ranch Road
- Baseline Road Eastbound and Westbound between Johnson Road and 331st Avenue
