The roads were very passable at 6:30am, but the drop in temperature and the blizzard of snow made the roads, parking lots, and school sidewalks randomly slippery and dangerous. In addition to high winds, power outages, and fallen trees (both on and off campus), there are just too many variables for bus drivers and family drivers. The snow is likely to hold off for the rest of the day, but the timing was disappointing and not a safe commute. More snow is forecast for tonight, so stay tuned. thank you for understanding.

All buildings and facilities (including pools, tennis courts, FEC, etc.) will be locked. Card key access to the building is not available. Employees and students are not allowed on University grounds during the day.

Only essential personnel are allowed on campus and the building is locked. This is for everyone’s benefit and safety as sidewalks, parking lots and roads cannot be properly cleared if vehicles get in the way.

Only Yavapai College Facilities employees are permitted to participate in snow removal or snow removal by plowing, shoveling, deicing or otherwise.
