PHOENIX — A man was arrested Saturday in connection with a hit-and-run Friday in which two women were seriously injured, officials said.
Germany’s Tapia Kiloz, 48, was held at Fourth Avenue Prison on charges of leaving the scene with serious injuries, Phoenix police said in a press release.
Police responded to a call that two people were hit by a car near 24th Street and Thomas Road at approximately 7:45 p.m. Friday.
Police said Tapia-Kiroz was crossing Thomas Road and walking south on his way east on Thomas Road when the women ignored traffic lights.
The woman was found in the driveway and taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said. they remain stable.
Police later found Tapia Quiros’ car near Indian School Road and 32nd Street and revealed he was inside.
Officials said they did not believe alcohol contributed to the crash.
