York’s main road was closed in both directions after the collision.
York’s A64 is currently closed in both directions due to accident investigation work between Redhill Field Lane at Billbrot Top and the A1237 Copmanthorpe Roundabout.
Affecting traffic in and out of Tadcaster.
Drivers are warned to avoid the area whenever possible.
It is not known at this time if anyone was injured.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: ‘The A64 is currently closed in both directions so that crash investigation work can be carried out after a serious crash that occurred just before 1:20 am this morning (27 March). .
“Expect to remain closed during rush hour this morning (Monday).
