April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month | News

Tucson, Arizona (KVOA) – April is National Sexual Violence Awareness Month, with local events kicking off on April 5 to mark annual efforts to raise awareness of sexual violence and increase support for survivors increase.

‘Demand Equity: Sexual Assault Affects Everyone’ is the theme of this year’s event. It calls on all individuals and communities to transform themselves and the systems that surround us to build racial equality and respect.

The event is open to the public. Participants are encouraged to wear the color teal to support survivors and promote awareness and accountability for sexual violence.
