Gordon Mark Haugen died Thursday, March 23, 2023 in Green Valley, Arizona.

Gordon was born March 11, 1937 in Glasgow, Montana, to Mark and Ruth Matchet Haugen. His family moved to a farm outside Chinook, Montana, in 1941, where he attended school.

In 1955, Gordon met and married Harbor Central girl Sharon Warren (“Punky” to all who knew her). This union produced three sons and one daughter.

Gordon worked a variety of jobs and lived in various Highline communities until 1964, when he and his young family returned to Haugen Farms outside Chinook. In addition to working with his father on his farm, he worked in Blaine County and Bob’s on his flooring.

Sharon and her children pursued their dream of starting a business and moved to Malta where they opened Gordon’s Home Furnishings in 1970.

After his father retired, Gordon purchased a family farm in 1979, where he farmed and ranched until he retired.

Unfortunately, Gordon lost Punky in 1993, but found new love in 1994 when he married Linda Westin Rackett. Linda and Gordon traded time between Yuma and Chinook.

The communities of Chinook, Malta, High Line, and Yuma, Arizona held a special place in Gordon’s heart. Wherever he lived, Gordon was active in service. He has been in many organizations where he has shared his efforts, talents and leadership.

Gordon was deceased by his brother Le Haugen. his wife Sharon and Linda; son Mark Haugen and grandson Chad Haugen.

He has three children: Mike (Dennis), Haber, Montana, Linda Tangen (Tom), Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, Matt (Lori), and Gresham, Oregon. and his daughter-in-law Billy Hogen Chinook, Montana. He has 9 of his grandchildren and 11 of his great-grandchildren.

Instead of flowers, the family requested a donation to the Chinook American Lutheran Church in Gordon’s honor.

A service is scheduled for Friday, April 21 at 10:00 am at Chinook’s Lutheran Church. Lunch at the Chinook Eagles Club is scheduled after the cemetery burial.
