53-year-old Utahn dies during biking trip in Arizona

Sedona, Arizona (ABC4) — A 53-year-old man died last Friday of chest pain while on a bicycle trip in Sedona, Arizona.

according to Yavapai County Sheriff’s Officeagents received a call around 1 p.m. Friday, April 7 regarding a man not breathing on a trail near Devil’s Bridge in Sedona. it was done.


First responders found the 53-year-old man’s two sons, ages 14 and 15, at the Dry Creek Vista trailhead. The teenager reported that his father had been complaining of chest pain half a mile ahead of him on the bike trip. He then fell off his bike and stopped breathing, officials said.

The man was confirmed dead at the scene.

The boys reportedly told officials they were visiting from Utah. Authorities have not released the man’s identity at this time.

“As a demonstration of the compassion and compassion of the wonderful YCSO staff, to make sure the boys were not alone during this tragic time, three deputies took them to a local restaurant for pizza and asked their uncle. We waited with them until they arrived,” a Yavapai County official said.

The man’s cause of death is not immediately known.
