2 hurt in 3-vehicle crash in Green Valley

GREEN VALLEY, Arizona (13 NEWS) – Two people were injured when three vehicles collided in opposite directions on Interstate 19 heading south in Green Valley on Tuesday, April 18. Road Closed.

The crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. after a Santa Cruz County sheriff’s deputy tried to stop the suspect, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Border Patrol agents found the suspect’s vehicle passing the I-19 checkpoint and heading north on the southbound lane at Kilometer 42.

Border Patrol remained in the northbound lane and followed the suspected vehicle until it collided with two southbound vehicles at 63 km.

The suspect and one other person were taken to a hospital in Tucson.

The DPS said a disability was suspected, but the suspect will not be booked until he is discharged from the hospital.

Information about the condition of others was not immediately available.
