National Crime Victims Rights Week takes place April 23-29, and the Pinal County Attorney’s Office is hosting a series of events in Florence to mark the week.
First up is the “No Booze Cruze Car & Bike” show on Main Street on Friday, April 21 from 5-8pm. The event will focus on safe and sober driving.
The second event will be a “Community Meeting and Crime Victims Candlelight Vigil” on Monday, April 24 from 5:30-7:30 pm at 971 Joseph Lopez Circle.
The community meeting will include a panel of community leaders such as Pinal County Attorney Kent Volkmer, Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb, Florence Mayor Tara Walter, Alderman Nicole Buccellato, and Florence Police Chief Bruce Walls.
To wrap up the week, the Pinal County Attorney’s Office will host a “Kids & Community Kickball Tournament” on Friday, April 28 from 5-9pm at 3103 N. Anthem Way in Merrill Ranch.
The event features food trucks, fingerprinting, and demonstrations by local law enforcement sharing anti-crime messages with local youth.
