Sedona Deputy City Manager Joanne Keene finalist for Flagstaff deputy city manager

Sedona Deputy Mayor Joan Keane is the last finalist for the position of Flagstaff Deputy Mayor.

The City of Flagstaff held final interviews on Thursday, April 6th from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. The City of Flagstaff placed 175 of his potential candidates for the position, invited 11 for interviews, and narrowed the field down to his two.

One recently accepted another position, so Flagstaff proceeds with Keane’s final interview.
Keen was hired as Deputy Mayor of the City of Sedona — a position formerly called “Deputy Mayor” —
Selected from 120 applicants in May 2021.

Keane had been the Assistant County Manager for Coconino County for 15 months at the time of his hire.

Keane is a certified public manager with a Bachelor’s degree in English and Broadcast Journalism and a Master’s degree in Public Administration.

Previously, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff at Northern Arizona University for nearly five years. She served as Coconino County’s Director of Government Relations for over seven years. She served as Chief of Staff, Legislative Committee Chair, and Legislative Assistant to the United States House of Representatives for seven years. For two years she served as a Public Affairs Officer for the Arizona Department of Water Resources.
