YUMA, Arizona (KYMA, KECY-TV) – Low pressure over the central California coast will slowly move northeast into Friday, bringing cooler-than-normal temperatures and persistent light winds.
No rain or snow events are expected in the southwestern part of the desert.
A flood warning is in effect until 5pm on Sunday, May 7th. This is because the water released from the Painted Rock Dam continues to flow through Yuma County and down the Gila River.

Stronger winds tonight, especially in the Imperial Valley, with westerly winds of 25-30 MPH, decreasing to 15-20 MPH after midnight. Winds can reach 45 mph.
Between 8pm and midnight there is a high chance of dust in the valleys, so take extra care while driving.
Yuma isn’t very windy, but you’ll get 15-20 MPH northwesterly winds, 30 MPH gusts, and light breezes.
Light to gale conditions will persist through Friday.

The gradual warmer trend will continue over the weekend, with temperatures likely to return to normal and slightly above normal by early next week.
A different weather system is expected in the middle of next week, bringing cooler temperatures and stronger winds.
